Technological Appocalypse
Mood:  sad

I had a vision some years ago that all this 2012 paranoia has brought to the forefront. I dreamt the world going dark and seeing the aurora. I've come to the conclusion that an important CME is imminent. Check it for yourself NASA has already published papers on this possiblity. The Maya whose calendar has an 11 year cycle that tracks solar activity, comes to a complete cyclic end, or beginning in 2012.
While an extreme electromagnetic storm will wreak havoc, it won't directly kill us. It'll knock organized society on it's ass though. The survival of the human race may depend on people's ability to work together in small communities to rebuild. If chaos and anarchy emerges many deaths will follow. This has me particularly concerned for the USA, too many guns, too little social cohesion.
I suspect that there are those who already know this is coming and that the economic crisis we've seen is in part a result of this knowledge. There are a few confirmation signs to watch for. One for sure, Pres. Obama will bring home the troops in 2012. A rash of UFO's will be seen (our interstellar voyeurs will know this is coming and want to prepare their monitoring equipment). Finally I see no upturn to the economic crisis, money flows downhill. Those at the top have been informed and will be moving their money into solid assets.
Prepare yourself. Learn how to be selfsustainable. If you can move to a small town in an isolated area, it's a good time to do so. Keep a month's emergency rations safely stashed. Make faraday cages for the technology you wish to preserve, and ground your car when you leave it parked. If you live in the city, have an escape plan. You can always return when things start to improve.
I'm no nutcase, I've watched this world teetering on the brink of man made disaster since I was born during the Bay of Pigs invasion. Never have I had such a sensation of impending doom, even when it looked like the earth would end in a nuclear nightmare.
In any case the preparations don't necessarily need to be expensive, and learning to filter water or plant tomatoes or even dig a latreen is a good thing even if the world doesn't come to an end.

Good Luck to you all and God Bless!
