Isn't it time the human race abandoned such outdated and imprecise definitions? Generalized descriptors such as race aren't useful and seem to be a residue of a natural anthropological xenophobia. Racial mixing has been commonplace for thousands of generations. We all share a common genetic ancestry. Perhaps, instead of race, we should use cultural ancestry. It would be much more useful, interesting, and informative. For example; I'd rather be described as pensylvania dutch, says a lot more than caucasian. From it you don't get a poorly defined group of physical descriptions or racially prejudiced attitudes, in contrast it gives a rich amount of background information.
In short, our racial background is what makes us the same, it's the cultural background that makes us different. There's only one race, the human race, rich with cultural diversity.
